Edward Effah

Group Managing Director

Edward established The Fidelity Group in October 1998 after a successful career as a senior finance executive. Fidelity is a financial services group comprising of Fidelity Bank Ghana Limited, Fidelity Capital Partners Limited, Fidelity Asset Management Limited, Fidelity Equity Fund 1 Limited and Fidelity Equity Fund 2 Limited. Fidelity Bank has assets of over US$ 250 Million and was adjudged the best growing bank in Ghana in 2007 by Corporate Initiative Ghana. Fidelity Capital Partners Limited manages in excess of US$ 60 Million in private equity venture capital funds and is the leading venture capital fund manager in Ghana. Under Edwards’ leadership Fidelity has been able to establish itself as a leader in its markets in Ghana in terms of reputation, profitability and assets under management.

Edward brought to Fidelity over fifteen years of experience in senior executive positions in finance and treasury management. Previous positions held include: Director of Global Emerging Markets (GEM) Ghana Limited (1995-1998), Chief Finance Officer of Inter-Afrique Group (1994 – 1997), Risk Manager (1990 – 1994) of Rudolf Wolff, the City of London based derivatives and foreign exchange trader and an auditor and management consultant with Coopers and Lybrand, London (1987 – 1990). Edward is a Chartered Accountant by profession and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.


Kwamina Duker

Managing Director and CEO

K joined OANDA as Managing Director for Asia Pacific and is responsible for overseeing the companys’ operations in the region. Based in Toronto, K brought with him over a decade of experience in leading major foreign exchange technology platforms in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining OANDA, K worked at Deutsche Bank for nearly ten years, where he headed up the banks’ eFX business in Asia Pacific, originating and implementing dbFX – the first retail online forex trading platform from a major bank.

K Duker is Chairman of FX Architects and a Non-Executive Director of Fidelity Bank Ghana Ltd in Ghana. He achieved his MBA from UCLA Business School.


Johanna Odonkor Svanikier


Johanna Odonkor Svanikier (LL.B, LL.M (Lond.), B.L., M.P.A. (Harvard), M.Sc (Oxon)) is a Doctoral Candidate in political science at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom and a research associate at the Oxford Centre for International Development. She is also a barrister, university lecturer and legal and development consultant.

She holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in law from the London School of Economics, UK, a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University, U.S.A. and a Masters in Political Science from the University of Oxford, U.K.

She was a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard University. She has been called to the Bar in England and Wales and in Ghana. She is the author of several publications including “Womens’ Rights and the Law in Ghana”.

Key Management

Yap Yin Ming, Bobby

Operations Manager

Yap Yin Ming, Bobby has 25 years of commercial banking experience working for Bank of Tokyo – Mitsubishi UFJ (M) Berhad. Bobby’s last position held with the Japanese bank was VP/Manager in the Operations’ Department taking charge of the Trade Financing, Foreign Outward/Inward Remittances and the Swift sections before resigning to try new areas. After leaving the previous bank, Bobby worked in the fitness industry dealing in commercial fitness equipment leading a commercial sales team to market well-known fitness equipment from USA. He decided to move back to banking by joining Fidelity Asia Bank, Ltd in May, year 2012.

Tengku Mohammad Reza Tengku Izham Shah

General Manager – Wealth Management

Tengku Mohammad Reza has over 25 years banking and financial / investment advisory experience. His last post was as the VP – Core Business with Cagamas Berhad, the National Mortgage Corporation of Malaysia. In Malaysia, prior to joining Cagamas he was practicing as an Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) and contributed in developing and setting up IFA companies here. A graduate in Business Administration (Credit Management) and Financial Markets he spent 18 years in Perth, Australia where he gained management experience in various industries such as Banking, Financial Markets, Investment Advisory and Real Estate.
